Thailand got a special edition of the mu-X recently, on February 4, 2023, with a blacked-out grille, a blacked-out set of wheels, and other black trimmings that are similar in execution to other special editions we’ve seen in the Philippines.
The mu-X launched in Thailand back on October 8, 2021. It’s been about two years since the model first launched, but we’re already seeing a special edition get introduced in the country. The Philippines had its official Isuzu mu-X launch in late September of the same year, which would make the model close to two years old now. We still haven’t seen a special edition from Isuzu Philippines, but perhaps some parts of this model will make their way to local variants soon enough.

Dubbed the Phantom Collection, the new trim package in Thailand continues the trend of SUVs getting blacked-out trimmings in favor of a more sporty or stealthy look. The mu-X got a launch earlier in February, which is a bit of a soft facelift for the popular SUV in the country.
As for the specifics of the trim package, Isuzu Thailand lists a gloss black front grille, a lower front bumper in gloss black, 20-inch alloy wheels in gloss black, black roof rails, black side steps, a black interior with silver trimmings, Cool Max black leather seats with white accent stitching, black leather door panels with white accent stitching.
While the name of the seats might indicate that it has a cooling system underneath, it’s actually the name of the leather material, which Isuzu claims absorbs less heat compared to standard automotive leather.
As for the available colors, the edition can be painted in either Islay Gray Opaque or Dolomite Pearl White. These two colors give off a ghost-like appearance to the SUV, with the Islay Gray colorway being the newer of the two.
