FOTON Philippines has done what many have thought as impossible. They've built and recently inaugurated their very own 11-hectar assembly plant right at the front door of Clark, Pampanga. This makes them the only Chinese brand to ever do this feat.
The property has 2 lots facing each other, one has the newly erected building that houses the product operations while the other serves as a stockyard. Its operations are broken down to 3 major facilities – Building A which houses the unit assembly, Building B is 4,200 sq.m parts warehouse and pre-delivery inspection, and Building C is where body fabrication happens.
Combined, the buildings will be able to produce up to 12,000 units annually. That number would come from a single line that's focused on passenger vehicle line-up, light duty trucks, and heavy duty trucks. In the next 3 years, FOTON plans to up the ante by building another assembly line that would focus mainly on building vans from the said manufacturer.
Besides having their own assembly plant here in the Philippines, FOTON will expand its current roster of dealerships, from 19 to 24. These are strategically placed in Quezon Avenue, Pasong Tamo, Marilao, Santa Rosa, Laguna, Batangas City, and Camarines Sur. Also in the next 3 years, this will grow to at least 35 more dealerships.
FOTON Philippines plans to create a Technical Training Center with the help of TESDA. This will not only cater to the locals but anyone who's interested in the profession.
All these will help them reach their ultimate goal of reaching 20,000 sales by 2020. For the current and future owners, this means that besides having more affordable vehicles, customers will rest easy knowing that they will receive top notch service and quality parts.
Congratulations FOTON Philippines.
