After a string of updates to its Asian lineup, Honda introduces the refreshed Odyssey – this time, in Indonesia. The Japanese minivan now comes with a more masculine front than its predecessor and the same advanced technology from 2014.
The new Honda Odyssey has a refreshed fascia that features a blacked out grille and honeycomb vents. In addition, this minivan comes with a redesigned set of 17-inch alloy wheels.
Honda Odyssey is the flagship model for Honda in Indonesia which has set the standard in terms of technology and comfort. Moreover, this model has built a strong reputation as a Premium MPV and have its own loyal customers in Indonesia," said President Director of Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) Tomoki Uchida.
Apart from those upgrades, the Odyssey still has the interior amenities that could make passengers feel like a VIP such as 8-way power seat adjuster with memory, premium cradle seat, 3-zone automatic air conditioning, and a 7-inch touchscreen monitor with GPS.
Furthermore, this mini van is loaded with technologies such as cruise control, paddle shift, multi-view camera assist, cross traffic monitor, and a smart parking assist system.
Powering the Honda Odyssey is the same 2.4 liter DOHC i-VTEC engine with Earth Dreams Technology with 175 hp and 226 Nm of torque, which is then mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission. This power unit is also equipped with an ECON mode (ECON Assist and ECON Button) for a more fuel efficient drive.
As for safety, this family van is packed. The Odyssey comes with airbags, ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, brake override system, ISOFIX, rear camera, pedestrian protection, motion adaptive EPS, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, and an emergency stop signal.
Its safety features are highlighted by Honda’s G-Force Control (G-CON) and advanced compatibility engineering which helps distribute impact energy of a collision and reduce injuries of the passengers.
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has yet to say anything if they would bring the refreshed Odyssey. To recall, HCPI launched an 8-seater variant of the current local spec Odyssey in 2016.
