The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the intersection of Quezon Avenue – Roosevelt Avenue will be closed starting May 21, 2016 at around 10:00 am. This is to give way to the construction of the Skyway Stage 3 Project. In light of this, alternate routes are in place to avoid inconvenience.
For those coming from the Northside of Roosevelt Avenue headed to EDSA, turn right to Quezon Avenue. The U-turn slot in front of the Maxima building will be opened to ease traffic congestion. (See photo above)
MMDA says traffic lights in the area will be in flashing mode and the said U-turn slot will be opened for affected vehicles. However, motorists are still advised to avoid these areas and use other alternate routes.
The Skyway Stage 3 is an elevated expressway that will span the entire length of Buendia, Makati City to Balintawak, Quezon City. It will have 8 strategically located interchanges, 4 to 6 lanes wide, 14 toll plazas, and a possible speed limit of 60 to 80 km/h. The construction period of the Skyway Stage 3 is said to last 36 months.
