In an effort to provide a safe and reliable ride for as many people as possible, Uber announced that it would now take passengers to select areas in Antipolo, Cainta, San Mateo, and Taytay.
For an additional P60, your Uber ride can now take you to select places in Antipolo, Cainta, San Mateo, and Taytay. The surcharge will only be applied if you go to those areas, not if you’re starting from them. The fee is meant to alleviate the cost of going to those places, and to ensure that riders would be available to accommodate passengers from said locations.
To know if your destination is included in the added areas, enter your drop-off point before you request for a ride. If your place is not included, the app will let you know.
Uber’s expansion also included those from the north as uberHOP added a pickup point in Quezon City. Commuters can now get a ride from Trinoma and get off at Tower One in Ayala Ave, Makati or at Net Quad in BGC, Taguig.
“These trips from TriNoma to the central business districts of Makati and BGC are intentionally scheduled during the peak traffic hours of 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., when demand for transportation is greatest,” said Uber Philippines General Manager Laurence Cua.
A one way trip from TriNoma to Makati or Taguig would cost you a flat-rate of P120. To book an uberHOP, just tap the Uber app and select uberHOP. Choose one of the predetermined routes presented to you and head to the nearest pickup location indicated.
uberHOP is a car pool service from Uber that can accommodate up to 5 people in a single ride. It’s only available in three cities in the world so far – Seattle, Washington, Toronto, Canada, and Metro Manila, Philippines.
