The Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City will soon allow motorists to pass through its gates. This is part of the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT)’s effort to decongest traffic in Metro Manila during the holiday season.
Motorists who wish to use the route will have to secure a pass from VMMC, which requires 2 pieces of 2x2 ID picture, a photocopy of the OR/CR of the car, and a fee of P500.
Once opened, vehicles traversing North Avenue may enter the VMMC main gate and exit at Gate 2 going to Mindanao Avenue. Of note, the gates will be opened during rush hours – from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
However, there’s still no exact date as to when VMMC will open the said route.
To recall, Camp Aguinaldo (in Quezon City) and Bonifacio Naval Station (in Taguig) have also been opened to motorists earlier to help ease traffic in certain areas in Metro Manila.
I-ACT is an organization that centers on addressing traffic-related issues. It’s comprised of the Department of Transportation, Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
