KG Mobility Tivoli Overview
The Tivoli offers the right combination of power, features, and aesthetic appeal at the right price. Stylish LED Daytime Running Lights adorn its front fascia, which goes well with the head-turning front hood character line. The matte black lower portion, fog lamps and mesh grille give it a sporty look. The inside of the Tivoli is just as good outside. It boasts the Supervision Cluster instrument gauge panel, which is designed to help alleviate driving difficulties at night. A Smart Steer system allows the driver to switch from three steering modes – Normal, Comfort, and Sport. It also features rear parking sensor, keyless entry, and alarm. Buyer can opt between a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that delivers 126 hp and 160 Nm of torque or a more peppy 1.6-liter turbo diesel that produces 134 hp and 324 Nm of torque. Both engines are then coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
- Launch
-
The SsangYong Tivoli launched in 2018 in the Philippines. It is a 5-seater crossover that was designed as the Korean car manufacturer’s entry into the segment. Currently, there are two engine options available for the local market, including a 1.6-liter turbo diesel and a 1.6-liter gasoline engine.
- Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
-
The Ssangyong Tivoli comes with two engine options to choose from. The first is a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine. The other option is a turbo diesel engine with the same displacement. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed transmission. The gasoline-powered engine produces 126hp and 160 Nm of torque. The turbo diesel, on the other hand, produces 134hp and 324 Nm of torque.
The Tivoli rides on MacPherson struts at the front and torsion beam suspension at the rear. Stopping power comes from ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear.

-
The SsangYong Tivoli in its gasoline power variant is an easy vehicle to drive. It responds well to every command without hesitation especially when going from a standstill. The automatic transmission aids in enhancing the vehicle’s nippy nature thanks to its quick shifts. Maneuvering the Tivoli is also easy especially in the city which can be attributed to its light steering feel. The steering has three modes to choose from Comfort, Normal, and Sport. Sport mode gives the driver the right amount of weight for stable high-speed cruising and precise cornering.
In its diesel form, the SsangYong Tivoli comes with a lot of torque, 324 Nm to be exact. Once you floor the accelerator the car shoves you into your seat. Turbo lag is present but the initial power delivers tot he front wheels is more than enough to keep things going. The 6-speed automatic transmission does a great job of keeping the power to the road.
- Technology Features
-
The gasoline-powered SsangYong Tivoli gives the driver a good amount of features. These included power-adjustable seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, auto climate control, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, auto-folding side mirrors, reverse camera with sensors, speed-sensing door locks, and keyless entry with a push-start button.
The Korean crossover also comes with a large infotainment system. The Android-powered head unit comes with Bluetooth connectivity paired to a decent sound system.
The diesel SsangYong Tivoli, on the other hand, comes with more updated tech as it is the newer variant. At the center of the dashboard is a massive 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It works seamlessly, and the six speakers that the vehicle has, sound average if not better than usual. Where the Tivoli stands out from the rest of the competition is its instrument cluster - 10.25 inches of full graphic, high definition display with multiple waypoints for vehicle settings. As for other features, the vehicle covers the basics like its gasoline fed variant.
- Exterior
-
The SsangYong Tivoli comes with sharp and angular lines. It goes away from the usual curves and chisels of other crossovers. The front face of the vehicle isn’t too busy with just a small black grille with chrome accents and a company badge. The angles give the crossover broad shoulders which make it look like a bigger car. Projector halogen lights can be front at the from while LED lights can be found at the rear of the vehicle.
- Interior
-
Separating the two SsangYong Tivoli variants apart is the redesigned dashboard of the diesel variant. The gasoline variant comes with a black and brown themed interior while the diesel variant comes with a black and gray interior. The seats are upholstered in leather which is nice to the touch. Storage spaces are also plentiful in the vehicle.
- Safety
-
The Ssangyong Tivoli does not have an ASEAN NCAP rating yet but the variant does come with a couple of safety features. Airbags are plentiful as it comes with dual front, side, and curtain airbags as well as other basic features like ISOFIX child seat tethers, ABS with EBD, immobilizer, and a burglar alarm.
