Volkswagen re-enters the Philippines on September 29, 2013. VW brought its initial lineup of the Jetta, Touran, Tiguan, and Touareg. The following year more units joined in on the lineup. These German and Mexican sourced units were later replaced with Chinese sourced models such as the Lamando, Santana, and Lavida. The current lineup of the German manufacturer currently consists of the Santana, Santana GTS, Tiguan, Lamando, and the Crafter. Popular vehicles that VW currently has is the Santana in both its sedan and wagon body styles.
In 2019 the Volkswagen launched its current model lineup replacing its older set of vehicles. Certain vehicles also came like the limited Club Edition of the Lavida.
Volkswagen discontinued the Touran, Jetta, Golf GTi, Golf GTS, Golf, Polo notch, Polo hatch, Touareg, and the Caddy. These were replaced by Chinese-sourced units for better pricing while still maintaining German quality.
Trim levels for VW units vary per model. Take for example the Santana which has three trim levels. Its entry-level variant is the MPI which serves as the base model unit with limited features and accessories. One tier up is the 180MPI which is the middle-tier variant, it can also be had with a Blaupunkt audio system. The top tier variant is the 180MPI SE, it is the most kitted out vehicle in terms of features and can come with a Blaupunkt audio system as a dealer option.
