The automotive industry is constantly evolving, with manufacturers introducing new and exciting vehicles to meet the demands of modern consumers. The crossover market has grown a lot in the past few years, with Chinese brands taking notable sales with well-equipped vehicles that stand out not just in design and technology but also in value.
However, there is one such crossover that has been under the radar, and that is the Maxus D60. A shame, really, as it is a remarkable crossover that combines style, functionality, and technology. So let’s shed some light on the D60, shall we, because we think it is very much worthy of consideration and is a very underrated choice in its segment.
Striking exterior design
The Maxus D60 boasts a captivating and dynamic exterior design that commands attention on the road. With its sleek lines, bold cobweb grille, stylish LED headlights, and a gorgeous-looking LED taillight bar that stretches across the rear, which gives that sort of wider illusion. The striking 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels gives the D60 a strong and confident presence. Its aerodynamic design on the other hand not only enhances the vehicle's visual appeal but also improves fuel efficiency, so plus points on that for the smooth integration of design and engineering.
Spacious and versatile interior
Step inside the Maxus D60, and you'll be greeted by a spacious and comfortable cabin that prioritizes both driver and passenger comfort with its premium leather seats. The crossover offers generous legroom and ample headroom in both the front and rear seats, ensuring a pleasant experience for occupants of all sizes. The D60 also provides versatile seating configurations with third-row seating, plus the ability to fold the rear seats flat, expanding the cargo space to accommodate larger items. The use of high-quality materials and thoughtful design elements further elevate the interior, creating a refined and enjoyable environment for all passengers.
Proven and tested safety
The Maxus D60 gets driver, passenger, and side airbags, stability control, electronic brake assist with hill-hold control, and ISOFIX tethers. All this contributes to its 5-star safety rating awarded by the China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP). So despite not having the ADAS system of its rivals, it still has proven and tested safety which is still very impressive, and arguably more important.
Integration of technology
In the era of smart technology, the Maxus D60 keeps drivers and passengers connected and entertained throughout their journey. The vehicle boasts an intuitive eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers seamless smartphone integration with mirror-link, allowing users to access their favorite apps, make hands-free calls, and stream music effortlessly. The climate control is cleanly integrated with semi-digital capabilities and buttons for ease of use. The infotainment screen along with the climate control unit flow seamlessly to provide an elegant yet futuristic look that goes will with the appearance of the rest of the cabin. The semi-digital instrument cluster, is easy to read, and easily configurable, which again matches with the seamless integration of the infotainment display and climate control.
Performance, comfort, and efficiency
The Maxus D60 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 168 hp and 250 Nm of torque mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, so it is indeed no slouch. With its turbocharged engine and dual-clutch transmission, the D60 strikes a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The vehicle's responsive handling and great comfort are all thanks to its Macpherson Independent front suspension and multi-link independent rear suspension, making it more dynamic to drive while retaining great comfort in a variety of road conditions.
All in all
There has been a lot of stiff competition and noise in the crossover segment with various brands releasing their own renditions, however the Maxus D60 is an underrated choice that more people should consider.
