Maxus D60 Overview
The Maxus D60 is the brand's entry to the midsize crossover segment. Apart from having a sleek and modern look, it also features extensive dimensions, making it one of the few entries in its class to have a 7-seater option. Two trims were made available for the Philippine market, aside from features, both variants also differ in terms of seating capacity. Respectively, the entry-level Pro can only sit up to five passengers while the range-topping Elite gets the additional of third-row seats making it a full-fledged 7-seater. This crossover can only be had with a small yet potent 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that's paired with a 7-speed Dual-clutch Transmission (DCT). Power is sent to the front wheels.

The Maxus D60 made its Philippine debut on February 5, 2021 through a virtual launch. This model serves as the brand's entry to the midsize crossover segment, and it comes in two variants, the Pro and the Elite. The prices for the D60 right after its launch start at P1,148,000 for the Pro, and P1,258,000 for the Elite.

Both Pro and Elite variants come with a small yet potent 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces a healthy 167 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Its motor is mated a 7-speed Dual-clutch Transmission (DCT) while power is sent to the front wheels. The chassis of this crossover features a unibody constructiom along with a fully independent suspension for the front and rear, comprising of MacPherson Struts and a multilink system respectively. The vehicle rolls on either 17 inch or 18-inch alloy wheels.

Standard features on the Maxus D60 include power windows, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, manual climate control, and the glorious 8-inch infotainment system paired with 6-speakers. The reverse camera and rear parking sensors are also standard, however, purchasing the Elite variant will add front parking sensors, plus, a push-start button along with smart keyless entry and leather upholstered seats.

On the outside, the Maxus D60 is a certified standout. Upfront, both variants get different grilles, with the Elite trim having an octagonal-shaped layout that features a signature cobweb pattern, while the Pro has a simpler black and silver combo. Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are standard, although, only the Elite trim comes with LED headlights. Going over the side, the D60's character lines are curvacious and well-pronounced. It does get blinkers on each side mirror, however, the automatic folding feature, is exclusive on the Elite trim. As for its wheels, the Pro variant has a set of smaller 17-inch alloys wrapped in 215/65 tires, the range-topping Elite, on the other hand, comes with larger 18-inch alloys paired with 235/55 tires. Lastly, the rear also has a head-turning factor, all thanks to its unified taillight and dual exhaust pipes which are well-integrated on the bumper.

Its extensive dimensions do translate to a roomy cabin. Notably, the range-topping Elite comes with third-row seats, making it a full-fledged 7-seater, while the entry-level Pro retains a 5-seater layout. The Maxus D60 features a black interior, it gets a fair share of silver accents, piano black panels, and soft-touch materials. This midsize crossover actually carries some familiar design cues from its MPV sibling, the G50. In terms of seat upholstery, the Pro is treated with fabric while the Elite gets leather. Rear passengers will surely be delighted by its additional air vents, plus, storage is good, with the D60 having a decent amount of cupholders, a well-sized glovebox, and a deep center console. Overall, its cabin is a nice place to be in.

Standard safety and security features on the Maxus D60 include EBA, HHC, electronic stabilization program, airbags (driver, front, passenger, side), ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a reversing camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Rear parking sensors are also standard, however, purchasing the Elite variant will give additional eyes for the front.
