Back in the day, the P600,000 to P700,000 price range usually gets you a small hatch or sedan which could either be in pint-sized or subcompact form. Fast-forward to now, and the market is filled with other options that fit within the said price range. Notably, even crossovers are becoming more affordable. Take the Chery Tiggo 2 as an example, which starts at only P695,000, and it already boasts of good practicality and decent features as well as great safety kit.
Good looks
On the outside, the subcompact crossover looks nice, especially with the black-roof option that can be combined with a range of vibrant colors including red, orange, blue, and white. Exterior features include LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), a front faux skid plate, side skirts, and a rear spoiler. The wheels, however, may vary depending on the trim you’ll purchase.
Inside, the Chery Tiggo 2 features a striking black and orange color scheme, space is also good despite its compact dimensions. For practicality points, it also comes with 21 individual storage spaces found throughout the cabin.
Enough Tech
As for convenience features, the AT variant comes with an 8-inch touchscreen that can mirror your Android or Apple devices and it is also where the reverse camera is being projected. The Tiggo 2 also packs a decent amount of safety equipment such as Hill Hold Control (HHC) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Other complementary features include a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and rear parking sensors. The safety features on the top of the line model aren’t too bad as well, and are better than quite a few offerings in the same segment.
A pint-sized performer
It’s motivated by a humble 1.5-liter gasoline engine that churns out 106 hp and 135 Nm of torque. In terms of transmission, the Tiggo 2 could either be opted with a 4-speed automatic that retails at P770,000 or a 5-speed manual that’s priced at P695,000. The special black roof option is only available for the AT trim, with pricing equating at P795,000.
Larger than life warranty
On top of this, every Chery Tiggo 2 comes with a 10-year engine warranty, 5-year general vehicle warranty, 3-year roadside assistance and 3-year Preventive Maintenance Service for free. Therefore, ensuring that worry-free ownership experience. With all that said, this subcompact crossover does deliver in terms of style and practicality. Nowadays, you don’t have to spend that much money in order to have the crossover experience, and this testament did become a fact given the Tiggo 2’s ‘easy-on-the-pocket’ approach.
