GAC M6 Pro Feature

There was a time when MPVs were synonymous with practicality and economy—but not much excitement. They offered plenty of space but lacked style and power. Recently, however, automakers have been transforming the segment, bringing in more dynamic designs, better performance, and modern features to make MPVs far more appealing.

The GAC M6 Pro is a standout contender in the MPV segment, boasting an eye-catching design, a turbocharged engine, and a modern, spacious interior that’s both stylish and comfortable. Don’t get us wrong, MPVs are still quite mundane and won’t be the first thing you go to for excitement. However, in terms of being a family vehicle, some spice is always better than no spice, which is why the M6 Pro is in our spotlight.

We think this MPV has the potential to upgrade the family hauler, and we list our reasons below.

Let’s be clear: the primary appeal of MPVs isn’t their looks. Still, adding a dash of style to an otherwise functional family hauler is always a welcome touch. GAC understands that the M6 Pro isn’t meant to turn heads on the red carpet, but they’ve given it a few thoughtful styling tweaks to make it handsome, neat, and, most importantly, distinctive.

At the front, the M6 Pro showcases a bold, prominent grille paired with sleek headlights and stylish DRLs. The rear design, inspired by its predecessor, the GN6, features wraparound LED taillights, a wide rear window, and a spoiler-mounted stop lamp. Reflectors on the sides further enhance its modern appearance.

The interior is comfortable and inviting, featuring standard captain’s chairs in the second row. The cabin is trimmed with high-quality plastics and fabric (or leather) that feel premium and pleasant to the touch.

GAC M6 Pro Infotainment

When it comes to technology and features, the GAC M6 Pro is also modern, offering an impressive array of equipment across all variants. Standard amenities include a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch multifunction touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, power-folding side mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control, Follow-Me-Home headlight functionality, and dual-zone automatic air conditioning.

While the M6 Pro embraces its role as a family vehicle, it stands out with a unique design that’s still pleasing to look at, and for families, that’s more than enough.

Engine

MPVs aren’t designed to compete with sports cars or roadsters, but they must be capable of reliably transporting people and cargo while maintaining fuel efficiency.

The M6 Pro delivers on this with its 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, producing 174 hp and 270 Nm of torque—more than adequate for its intended role. The engine performs admirably, in our review with two passengers on board, the M6 Pro pulls well and has enough grunt and power to get up to speed fairly quickly. We think that even with all the seats full plus some luggage, the M6 Pro’s engine can still perform well considering there are other MPVs on the market with way less power.

In terms of fuel economy, the M6 Pro delivers a range of 7.5 to eight km/l in the city and can reach up to 16 km/l on the highway.

GAC M6 Pro Ride

In our review of the M6 Pro, the MPV proved to be quite stable on the road, it’s not too bouncy that it’s sickening nor is the ride too firm that it’s jarring. The suspension does a good job of ironing out imperfections on the road and if you take it to a bend with a bit of gusto, your passengers won’t be thrown around because body roll is minimal and the steering wheel does provide a good amount of feedback.

The way we would describe the M6 Pro’s ride is simple: it keeps everyone happy. Drivers can hit the road with confidence, while passengers can enjoy a slightly firm, but overall comfortable ride.

Remember in the title we said the GAC M6 Pro is “Accessible”, here we explain why. The lineup starts at P1,278,000 for the GS variant and goes up to P1,598,000 for the GL variant. At these price points, the M6 Pro offers excellent value, undercutting most MPVs and minivans with comparable features and capabilities. While the GL variant comes close to the P1,600,000 mark, the price is justified by the additional safety features it brings to the table.

GAC M6 Pro Exterior

If you’re searching for an MPV that offers a refined interior, a powerful engine, and captain's chairs, the M6 Pro is definitely worth a closer look.
