Let’s face it. Gas prices aren’t getting any lower, and EVs are starting to make more sense. However, it can be a bit overwhelming to pick your first EV. Good thing GAC AION has a bunch of choices depending on how and where you drive.
GAC AION is China’s growing EV brand that offers electric cars made for real-world use. The lineup includes cars that are easy to charge, simple to drive, and made to fit different needs. Most of them also come with useful tech and safety tools without being too complex. We’ll rifle off each of the Aion cars from the lineup, and give you an overview of each unit to help you assess which one is the right one for your lifestyle.
GAC AION ES – Best for daily and simple drives

If you're looking for a no-fuss electric car that covers your everyday needs, the AION ES is a good choice. It has enough space for small families or individuals who just want something decent for work and errands. With 134 hp and 225 Nm of torque, it gives smooth driving without using fuel. It runs on a 55.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, letting you travel around 442 km on a full charge, good enough for quick drives and out-of-town trips.
You also get helpful features like cruise control, hill-hold assist, parking sensors, and a reversing camera. The AION ES may not come with the most advanced tech, but it has the right basics that make everyday driving easier. If you want something simple, comfortable, and easy to maintain, this one checks the boxes.
GAC AION UT – Easy to drive, easy to park

If you need something small on the outside but spacious enough inside, the AION UT gives you just that. It’s a hatchback that’s great for busy roads and tight parking but still has a decent cabin and trunk space. The car puts out 134 hp and 225 Nm of torque, and you can go up to 150 km/h. It’s quick enough for everyday drives and even short trips outside the city.
Inside, there’s a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, plus a sunroof, leather seats, and automatic aircon. You get safety features too, like tire pressure monitoring, hill start assist, and electronic stability control. If you're after an electric car that's easy to drive, has good features, and doesn’t take up too much space, this one might be the better fit.
GAC AION Y – Spacious inside and is made for long drives

If you drive around a lot or regularly have passengers with you, the AION Y gives you lots of space and a comfortable cabin. It has a 201 hp motor and 255 Nm of torque, plus a 63.2 kWh battery that can take you up to 490 km on one charge. You can also fast charge it from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, so you won’t be waiting long.
The technology inside is also easy to use, with voice commands, a digital driver display, and smart features like lane-keep assist and auto emergency braking. It has a flat floor, so the back passengers get more legroom, and the trunk can hold a lot. If you’re looking for something that feels spacious, runs smooth, and has modern features, the AION Y might be your best bet.
GAC AION V – A bigger option with strong power and range

For those needing more power and space, the AION V might be the better vote. It’s an electric SUV with up to 600 km of driving range and multiple powertrain choices, including a dual-motor AWD setup. Some variants produce over 181 hp, giving it a strong power when needed. The platform it uses, GEP 2.0, is light but tough, helping you get a stable drive without losing battery range. And when it’s time to recharge, you can go from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes using fast charging.
Inside, it feels modern and clean. You get a touchscreen, voice control, a smart air system, and even zero-gravity seats. It also has driver-assist features like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. If you want something safe, spacious, and tech-ready for the family, the AION V is the one to look at.
GAC Hyptec HT – Stronger power and advanced technology for daily use

If you want a car that feels fast and smart at the same time, the Hyptec HT might be for you. It’s an electric SUV that gives 335 hp and 430 Nm of torque. With the right battery, you can go as far as 810 km on a full charge. That’s more than enough for any week of driving! It also charges fast, so even long drives won’t slow you down much.
It’s packed with features like voice control, remote access, and Level 2+ autonomous driving. Inside, it’s got a big touchscreen, a nice sound system, and comfy seats with lots of legroom in the back. Safety is strong, with cameras, sensors, and tools like adaptive cruise and emergency braking. If you’re after something that feels ready for the future but still fits daily needs, the Hyptec HT is worth a look.
