The year 2018 has been good for Mazda, especially with the Japanese brand reaching a milestone – 50 million units produced in 86 years. Locally, it has also been a great one, with the introduction of the much-talked-about Mazda2 Premium Series, 2018 MX-5, and CX-9 Sport Touring in the country.
The Mazda2 Premium Series
Yes, fans and customers of the premium Japanese brand have been eyeing the new additions to the SKYACTIV model range. First in the highly-anticipated new lineup this year is the Mazda2 Premium Series in three variants: the Java, Katana, and Crimson editions.
Mazda announces its Java Edition in the new exterior color, Titanium Flash, and the soon-to-arrive Katana Edition that brings the marque's signature Machine Grey into the range for the first time. These two are said to add more maturity and class to the top-spec Mazda2 Premium Series line. The Crimson Edition, on the other hand, updates its shade from Soul Red to Soul Red Crystal, the brand’s all-new signature color that’s head-turning, fierce, and vibrant.
The new Mazda2 gets updated exterior toys, too – there’s the shark fin antenna in the Premium Series variants, and redesigned 15-inch alloy wheels for the entry-level manual transmission-equipped S variant. Needless to say, the Mazda2 Premium Series still carries its Kabuki and Midnight editions.
The 2018 MX-5
Another model that has been creating the buzz is the 2018 MX-5. Its latest iteration – the new Dark Cherry soft top canopy for the automatic transmission-equipped MX-5 – is said to heighten the the appeal of the iconic two-seat roadster.
The MX-5 RF with six-speed SKYACTIV manual transmission
Car enthusiasts have consistently been yapping about the MX-5 RF with six-speed SKYACTIV manual transmission, which caters to car buyers who want to be more engaged in their drive while valuing the security of a retracting solid roof.
The front-wheel drive CX-9 Sport Touring
And, of course, everyone has been thrilled with the front-wheel drive CX-9 Sport Touring – an all-new variant in the Mazda Crossover Series lineup. This latest addition to the stylish and powerful seven-seater crossover nameplate comes with the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV turbocharged engine found in the all-wheel drive CX-9 Grand Touring. The CX-9 Sport Touring is differentiated by its dark silver 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlamps.
