Have you checked Hyundai’s lineup of vehicles in the Philippines? If so, then we probably don’t need to tell you that its new models are something to behold. With new cars and a renewed outlook on service and satisfaction, The South Korean brand is now determined to dominate the industry and to provide customers with cars that not only look great on the brochure but are also great to own full stop.
A few years ago, we might have given pause first before recommending a Hyundai vehicle, now, everything is different. The models are good, the brand is in the best shape it's ever been, and did we also mention that the models are good? Let’s list down five reasons why Hyundai is on a roll and why the brand’s car deserves to be on your shortlist.
New lineup, new models, new design
There’s something special about Hyundai’s design language. Updated for 2023 and ready to take on almost any road, the brand’s cars are something of a marvel compared to the old lineup. Hyundai dropped a bomb on everyone when it relaunched under new management, and the Staria, Stargazer, Santa Fe, Tucson, Custin, and Creta are all compelling options, not just within Hyundai’s lineup, but also in relation to the rest of the market. On top of that, we can expect great strides in the EV space thanks to Hyundai, as the company that's now in charge of the brand also has an eye for the future, especially with its IONIQ line of products which includes the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 locally.
Under new management
Without diving too deep into history, and old Hyundai owners will know this, the brand had a bit of a misstep prior to its relaunch last year. The year 2022 marked a milestone for the brand, now invigorated and ready to take on just about any challenge that the Philippines will bring, Hyundai Motor is as ready as it will ever be to serve and satisfy Filipinos in their quest for value, good service, and darned good cars. Horror stories no more, as the brand pledged to move forward with vigor and a passion to bring the best to the country.
Feature-packed
So far, with the cars that we were able to test with Hyundai Motor Philippines, we’ve felt that even the most entry-level of models had enough tech and safety kit to help you survive and even enjoy your drive. Industry standards like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are a must-have in this day and age, and Hyundai is able to deliver the goods. On top of that, digital displays find themselves embedded into the clusters and centers of the new models, giving a modern infotainment and info blast to the driver and passengers.
Full safety
Go to any Hyundai model page on any of our car guides and you will know what’s up. Just browsing through the spec sheets of each model, you will find a ton of features like driver attention warning, tire pressure monitoring systems, and collision avoidance technologies that are more than just six airbags and a couple of seatbelts. On top of that, check back with the ASEAN NCAP for the crash rating of Hyundai vehicles. You’ll find at least four stars or more on each of the models. Hyundai made a big deal about its high-strength steel in the past, and it’s paying dividends in the crash testing conducted by the assessment program. Color us impressed because achieving a level of consistency with the NCAP is no easy feat, especially for an entire lineup.
Aftersales and warranty
Hyundai Motor Philippines will maintain a high level of aftersales service moving forward. The company has been upping its game recently with the number of dealers and the availability of parts and services. On top of that, the brand has one of the best warranties in the business with five years and 200,000 kilometers (whichever comes first). It has to be said, that “peace of mind” isn’t listed on any spec sheet, no matter what brand or car you look at, but a warranty this good is definitely synonymous with it.
Bonus: They’ve got the N Brand here in the Philippines
In April, at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. officially launched the N Brand in the country. This development is important because, for a time, Hyundai was not offering a sedan in the country for some time until the N Brand came along. Now, Hyundai is offering performance-oriented versions of the IONIQ 5 and the Elantra, marking the return of the nameplate after its quiet exit a few years ago.
The addition of the IONIQ 5 N and the Elantra N means that Hyundai has something for everyone, even adrenaline junkies.
Do these reasons convince you to consider going for a Hyundai as your next vehicle? Check out the Hyundai lineup on AutoDeal.com.ph and connect with a professional sales agent to start your search today.
