Whatever you thought of Chery back when they had the QQ, they’re not the same company that they were back then. Under United Asia Automotive Group, Incorporated (UAAGI), the brand has found a new footing in the Philippines as it is determined to give its customers good service and great vehicles.
Just how great are its cars now? While we have reviewed several Chery crossovers in the past to some delight, take it from the owners themselves. Chery Philippines was kind enough to supply us with testimonials of real owners talking about their cars. The car in question is the Tiggo 7 Pro, the newest compact crossover from the brand that presents a lot of value.
“I got hooked on its looks.”
It’s easy to get enamored by a new car, especially one that looks as forward as the Tiggo 7 Pro. The large grille is in keeping with the trend, while its myriad of finishes make it stand out even up close. Kurt De Castro was hooked the moment he saw it, and he also gives a nod to both the power and tech features in the crossover. On top of his comment, the owner also enjoys the 360-degree camera that is also clear at night. Lastly, aftersales service and warranty coverage removed his doubts about Chery.
“I got hooked on its looks. The power output is spot on. Tech features wise is a two thumbs up. I was surprised by how clear the 360 camera is even at night. Plus the warranty and PMS that's free for 3 years? At first, I tend to have doubts but Chery gave me the strong assurance that they got my back.”
“It’s luxurious features can only be found on expensive cars.”
We’re with Onin on this one. There are many expensive cars out there that have a ton of features, but you have to pay through the nose to get it. Onon Estimoso explains that the 360-degree camera is clear and even grants the user a 3D and wide-angle view that is extremely helpful to drivers that are used to smaller cars.
“It’s future-ready and professional looking. Its luxurious features can only be found on expensive cars. The 360-degree camera is clear, providing a 3D and wide-angle view which are helpful to new drivers and those who are used to driving smaller cars.”
“Its best asset is its spacious cabin”
Marcin Poscablo, meanwhile, lauds the Tiggo 7 Pro for its looks, engine, and interior—which he describes as “state of the art.” In comparison to other cars in the segment, the Tiggo 7 Pro definitely holds up—able to seat 5 adults comfortably. On top of this Marcin adds that the “comfortable leather seats that hold you in nice and tight on corners,” is another high point for him as an owner.
“The more you look at it, the more you love it. From its powerful engine to the state-of-the-art interior, there isn’t anything else to ask for. For me, its best asset is its spacious cabin coupled with comfortable leather seats that hold you nice and tight on corners.”
“Make every drive filled with comfort.”
Albert Obiano, an electrical engineer stated that the Tiggo 7 Pro is gorgeous, and its design is strong. High tech features and safety make the 7 Pro a comfortable drive. Comfort is brough about by a unibody chassis, while the features give you a sense of security, further adding to the comfort. He even enjoys the driving modes in the car as he states “I can shift to sport mode for fast highway drives.” That being said, increased throttle response and quick overtakes are possible with the Tiggo 7 Pro with just one switch.
The Tiggo 7 Pro has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a strong 210 Nm of torque mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Back then, you’d have to pay boatloads of money just to get a turbo in your car, but Chery was able to produce a car with such an engine at an affordable price.
“It's gorgeous. Its design is strong and aesthetic. When it comes to high technology and safety, the Tiggo 7 PRO offers bold features that make every drive filled with comfort. I have a panoramic sunroof, and I can shift to sport mode for fast highway drives.”
“They got my back.”
Going back to Kurt De Castro’s statement, he mentions that he “tends to have doubts,” but that notion was soon eroded by Chery Auto because they “gave me the strong assurance that they got my back.”
If you look at the car on its own, a budget-minded consumer will be impressed by a lot of the features, however, it’s Chery’s promise that truly shocks us because a 5-year general vehicle warranty is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of aftersales services. On top of that, you get a 3-year preventative maintenance service (PMS) plan and a 10-year powertrain warranty with a mileage cap of 1,000,000 kilometers. If you do find yourself on the side of the road, however, Chery still offers a 3-year roadside assistance package on all Tiggo models.
