Mazda vehicles are among the most well-reviewed cars in the industry. All that gloss shines well in the showroom, on videos, and in pictures, but does the gloss wear off after it reaches the consumers? We have compiled a few reviews from several of our more outgoing buyers who were all willing to review and make their voices heard on our website.
We have a bunch of reviews on site thanks to our Owner Reviews feature. This allows verified buyers to rate and write reviews about the very cars that they have purchased from verified dealerships around the country. There are expert reviews on our website as well, but getting to know what actual owners think. On top of that, there’s also a feature that allows you to view reviews from buyers after six months of ownership. So head on over to any of our Car Guide pages in the reviews section to find out even more about your preferred model.
First, let’s tackle a six-month review from Edna Sevilleno. Based in Iloillo City, she purchased her Mazda CX-30 from Mazda Iloilo in the 2.0 AWD Sport trim. An excellent choice in the subcompact crossover segment in the Philippines, the CX-30 boasts massive amounts of refinement and style and encloses the driver and passengers in luxuries that are unheard of with mainstream brands. As per her review, “[the] car serves me right. I feel comfortable and safe driving it.” Even after six months, getting the same feeling of quality and safety is a testament to just how well-built Mazda vehicles are.
As for some rather short-term reviews on the website, an anonymous buyer chimes in commenting about the performance of their Mazda CX-9 as well as points for improvement. The CX-9 is a midsize crossover that seats up to seven individuals and comes with a 2.5-liter turbocharged motor, one of Mazda’s most powerful engines for now. As the buyer states, “performance is flawless,” but he then goes on to talk about how Mazda can improve on the interior plastics and the available space in the third row. Once all the seats are up, the cargo space becomes “a joke,” which we will agree with as there are still some seven-seaters out in the market that have a serviceable third row as well as usable cargo space. When you’re hauling your family and their luggage, it pays to have a lot of boot space. Perhaps Mazda’s next iteration of the CX-9 can come with a more spacious rear end?
Speaking of families, Marc Frances Magoncia takes his Mazda CX-8 on family trips. He states that he “bought the car foir the kids,” and that they are “excited every day to ride the car.” Mr. Magoncia then goes on to state how much of a head-turner the CX-8 is on the road whether it’s with regard to his children or perhaps himself. Everyone likes the design of the CX-8, and Mazdas have always been known for their appeal in this area.
The same sentiment is shared with another anonymous buyer who purchased a Mazda3 2.0 SkyActiv Premium AT in the stunning Soul Red Crystal colorway. For us, the Mazda3 is one of the best-looking compact sedans on the market today, and it drives as well as it looks. Jaws dropped when Mazda first unveiled this model in the country, especially in the Soul Red paint.
Manuel Martinez reviewed his new Mazda BT-50 in its top-of-the-line trim after about a month of ownership. Given that the model is Mazda’s newest fusion of tough and elegant, Mr. Martinez went on record to state that “you get the best of both worlds.” When we tested the BT-50, we knew that it was an Isuzu underneath, but Mazda’s spin on the model coupled with Isuzu’s legendary reliability is a match made in heaven and Mr. Martinez certainly seems like he is enjoying it.
It’s still important to inspect your unit and be vigilant about its condition. While quality control issues plague any brand, Mazda was quick to respond to the case of Mr. Josef Ibarra with his CX-5. Even with a faulty product, unfortunate as it is, Mazda Alabang was hands-on with his unit, and it appears there was no love lost between the two parties. Owners, check your warranty policies, and your units. It’s a good thing that Mazda’s policy is among the best in the business, plus a service plan sweetens the deal for you as well.
