Chevrolet has revealed the 2017 Trailblazer at the Big Motor Sale in Thailand, marking the SUV’s ASEAN debut. It comes with a restyled front design, which looks similar with the production-spec Colorado that was introduced at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show.
The exterior of the new Trailblazer is more angular as compared to its predecessor. It is fitted with sharper-looking headlights with daytime running lights, a wider dual-port grille, and a revamped bumper. This SUV also gets a new set of alloy wheels.
Inside, the 2017 Trailblazer features an improved interior with reduced cabin and engine noise. Comparing it once again to its previous model, the Trailblazer has a new dashboard design. It has a new center console wherein the large circular knob for climate control is removed. The vehicle also features an electronic power steering (EPS) wheel. Moreover, it has an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Chevrolet’s latest MyLink. It also comes with Apple CarPlay applications with Siri voice recognition system.
Chevrolet says the Trailblazer is integrated with an improved “windscreen and window seals, door interface and roof ditch seal” to reduce wind noise. The vehicle’s NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) is also improved due to the sound deadeners in the engine bay.
The Thai-spec Trailblazer is powered by a new 2.5L Duramax diesel engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) that delivers 180 hp and 440 Nm of torque. It is then mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Of note, the engine is Euro-4 compliant.
In terms of safety features, the Trailblazer is equipped with Traction Control System (TCS), Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), among others.
On the other hand, reports state that Chevrolet Philippines has confirmed that the 2017 Trailblazer will be launched locally this year.
