Toyota Motor Philippines launches the all-new Hiace Super Grandia, finally completing the popular Hiace lineup. The all-new model of the Hiace comes in three trims: Fabric, Leather, and Elite.
We are excited to bring a higher level of luxury and a delightful ride experience that Filipinos truly deserve, with the all-new Hiace Super Grandia. We expect this model to further elevate the Hiace which currently has a 54.6 percent share in its segment, year-to-date as of July
Prices for the all-new Hiace Super Grandia start at P2,420,000 for the Fabric monotone variant. The fabric two-tone variant with Luxury Pearl Toning adds another P15,000 bringing its standard retail price (SRP) to P2,435,000. The Leather monotone variant starts at P2,510,000 while the Luxury Pearl Toning adds another P15,000 to its SRP bringing it up to P2,525,000. Finally, the Elite variant will start at P2,875,000 for the monotone variant while the Luxury Pearl Toning color will cost P2,890,000 nearly hitting the three million peso mark.
Up front, the all-new Super Grandia features a bi-beam LED with integrated turn lamp and automatic leveling device. It also features LED front clearance lamps and LED fog lamps. To help keep these lights as clean as possible, the vehicle also comes with headlamp cleaners.
Moving inside to the interior, the Super Grandia features four rows of seating, that’s one extra row more compared to the Alphard. These are available in two material options: the first is leather for both the Elite and Leather trim and finally fabric for the Fabric trim. The second and third rows are now captain’s chairs, while the fourth row is a bench-type seat. The Elite version gets 4-way power to adjust the captain seats that come with ottomans, so second-row passengers have a place to rest their feet. The Leather and Fabric trims on the other hand, only get normal captain’s seats. The second row of captain’s seats is the same across all trim levels. Elite trim gets leather and wood plating for door trims while the Leather and Fabric only get piano-black accents as door trims.
For entertainment, the all-new Hiace features a 6.8-inch touchscreen head unit with Display Audio with CD, DVD, MP3, FLAC, and AUX capabilities. It also comes with USB, Bluetooth, and T-Link. T-Link allows the user to connect their Apple or Android phones to the head unit. The entertainment system also features K2 Technology and a 6-speaker system. USB ports are plenty in this people carrier as it has seven ports spread throughout the vehicle. This lets both the driver and passengers charge their devices while on the road.
For safety, the all-new Hiace Supergrandia comes with Toyota’s Safety Sense (TSS) exclusively for the Elite trims. TSS gives the vehicle a pre-collision system which aids the driver by first issuing audio and visual warnings to the driver and applying the brakes if the system detects a crash is near. The Elite trim will also have Adaptive cruise control which will help the Driver follow and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front while still traveling at the set speed. Another feature included in TSS is Lane Departure and Automatic High Beams. These two features will help keep the vehicle in lane via audio and visual warnings as well as help the driver maintain vision during low visibility scenarios. Automatic High beams have the added benefit of automatically dimming when it senses an oncoming car as to not blind the oncoming vehicle. It will also auto-dim when the TSS equipped vehicle is too close to the rear of a vehicle in the same lane.
Toyota also gave out a disclaimer that these safety features are there only to aid the driver of the vehicle to make the vehicle and its passengers safer. Ultimately the driver is still responsible for the vehicle.
Standard across the line is ABS, Vehicle Stability Control with brake assist, and Hill-start assist. Airbags are also standard for the Driver, front passenger, driver’s knee, Frontside, and curtain shield. It also comes with ISOFIX plus a tether Anchor for those who want to carry young children around.
To help maneuver this behemoth around and to help you park, the Super Grandia comes with Clearance and Back sonar. Two sensors are located in the front while four are located in the back. This is also paired with a rearview mirror with an integrated back monitor display to further help the driver park.
Other features of this new Hiace include power windows, speed-sensing door locks, an outside rearview mirror that adjust and auto retract, as well as power sliding doors to make ingress and egress easy. The Elite trim the vehicle also comes with steering wheel controls that control audio, telephone, cruise control, as well as select Toyota Sense features. The other trim levels just get audio, telephone, and normal cruise control. All trim levels, however, get smart key entry, push to start system, and Auto easy closer for the side sliding doors as well as the back door. For that touch of comfort, the new Hiace rides on coil springs in the back mated to ventilated disc brakes all around.
Under the hood is a familiar 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 174 hp at 3,400 RPM and 450 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,400 RPM. This is the same engine shared across the Hiace lineup but for this trim, it gains a 30 Nm of torque increase compared to the Commuter and Grandia Tourer.
Color options for the Hiace Grandia are Black, Gray Metallic, White Pearl, and Luxury Pearl toning. The last color option will cost you another P15,000 on top of the vehicle’s SRP.
Priced below the Alphard but with more seats, the Super Grandia presents a more budget-friendly but luxurious choice for those who want to ride or be driven around in style.
