The Toyota Hiace Super Grandia is the top-spec version of the sixth-generation Hiace van in the Philippines. Toyota Motor Philippines took a trusted platform and turned it into something grand. While the Hiace Commuter and Grandia models are well-liked, the all-new Hiace Super Grandia will be much-loved. Everything that made the Hiace a staple on Philippine roads is elevated and given a breath of luxury and comfort in this model. It has the same face as the current Hiace, but with a tweaked look that indicates its stature as the highest-end model on offer from Toyota. You get a revised lighting array that features LEDs. The same treatment can be found in the rear of the car. Touches like these make the van an upscale-looking entry into its segment.
This sixth-generation Hiace Super Grandia is a cut above in terms of its interior. Instead of the regular bench seats, you get captain’s chairs for the second and third rows. You can also choose between fabric that is cool to the touch, leather that will stand the test of time, and quilted leather that aims to please. Instead of outright space, you get plush seating that lets passengers relax and recline on the road. The Super Grandia is not just a trim level, but it is an extension of one of the most trusted vans in the Philippines today. Equipped with the 2.8L turbo diesel engine, capable of 173 hp and 450 Nm of torque, that can be found in the top-spec Innova and Fortuner. You can also go all out with the Hiace Super Grandia and add the Toyota Safety Sense 2, which is only included in the top of the line trim. You’ll be in good hands because this system includes a pre-collision system (PCS), lane departure alert (LDA), adaptive cruise control (ACC), and automatic high beam (AHB) features to keep occupants away from danger.

The Toyota Hiace Super Grandia was launched on August 19, 2019. The van was launched with six variants – three of which come in a two-tone color option. The Super Grandia is the final and top-spec variant in the Hiace lineup.

Technology Features
At the center of the dashboard of the Hiace Super Grandia is an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It features Display Audio with CD, DVD, MP3, FLAC, and AUX capabilities. It also comes with USB, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple Carplay. The entertainment system also features K2 Technology and a 6-speaker system. USB ports are plenty in this people carrier as it has seven ports spread throughout the vehicle. This lets both the driver and passengers charge their devices while on the road.
The Hiace Super Grandia is also one of the first Toyotas to come equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense, which includes a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, and automatic high beam.
Exterior
The Hiace Super Grandia shares the same shape as its lower variant Hiace counterparts. Where it differs is in the headlights. Instead of having halogen reflectors it now features bi-beam LED headlights.
The new-generation Hiace Super Grandia is much wider and much taller than its older counterpart. It now features a snout departing from the boxier looks of the older model. It also has a much bigger grille that dominates the front fascia of the van. Underneath the large grille is a longer and wider but smaller one that houses the fog lights. Chrome adorns the upper and lower grilles adding more to its luxury feel.
Interior
The Hiace Super Grandia's interior comes in a two-tone configuration. Black is the dominant color in the interior with light gray being the color of the headliner. The van also comes with a choice of two seat material options, the first is fabric while the other option is leather.
The Hiace Super Grandia has four rows of seating. The second and third rows of the van are captain’s seats while the fourth row is a bench-type seat. The Elite version gets 4-way power to adjust the captain seats that come with ottomans, so second-row passengers have a place to rest their feet. The Leather and Fabric trim on the other hand, only get normal captain’s seats. The second row of captain’s seats is the same across all trim levels. Elite trim gets leather and wood plating for door trims, while the Leather and Fabric only get piano-black accents as door trims.
Safety
Standard features in the Hiace Super Grandia line start with a set of dual SRS airbags up front, a knee airbag for the driver, two side airbags, and a curtain shield airbag. Meanwhile, the Elite variant has Toyota Safety Sense equipped on it. The safety suite of features includes a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, and automatic high beam. On top of these features, the premium Toyota van also gets a set of airbags for the driver and front passenger.
Standard passive safety features for all passengers are 3-point seat belts, along with ABS, EBD, and vehicle stability control. It also features clearance and back sonar, two useful features when maneuvering the long and wide van is needed. Two sensors are located at the front while four are located at the back.
