Peugeot Philippines is experiencing a resurgence in 2022. The French automotive brand is on the heels of gaining a new local distributor and launching the all-new 5008 SUV, and it's already itching for more. The Peugeot 3008 is now available in the country. Could it shake up the premium compact crossover segment?
Exterior

The Peugeot 3008 received a facelift in September 2020, and it came with a stylish and striking redesign befitting of a modern crossover. It seems Peugeot explored the limits of its current design language with the new 3008's highly sculpted body. The brand's signature frameless grille features prominently, joined by the new lion emblem and sleek vertical daytime running lights (DRLs).
At the rear, there are signature LED taillights, chrome rear wing inserts on the tailgate spoiler, and dual exhaust tips. Peugeot completes the look with 18-inch alloy wheels and black body cladding all around.
Interior and technology

Stepping inside, you'll immediately notice an impressive cabin featuring the Peugeot i-Cockpit layout. Peugeot has done an admirable job of unifying its interior design language, making it easily recognizable for the average buyer. For the 3008, the highlights include a sportier steering wheel with button controls, a massive 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
On top of that, you get leather seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and a power tailgate. It also packs passive and active safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, active lane-keeping assist, and driver attention warning. Additional features include dynamic stability control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The 3008 also packs a reverse camera plus front and rear parking sensors.
Power

Pop the 3008's hood, and you'll find a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the sole powertrain option. The power plant delivers around 163 hp and 240 Nm of torque, with power sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox with a manual mode.
Pricing

The 2022 Peugeot 3008 is now available at dealerships nationwide. The compact crossover retails for P2,090,000 for its sole variant and is available in four color options: Pearl White, Amazonite Gray, Metallic Copper, and Nera Black.
