No noise, no fuss. Under the radar but caught on camera, Aion electric vehicles have landed in Manila. What exactly are they up to? Late one evening, several Aion electric vehicles were seen being unloaded from a carrier truck. While there was no formal announcement or celebratory launch, the arrival of Aion electric vehicles did not go unnoticed. Images of the Aion Y SUV models were captured and circulated among local media outlets, showing the vehicles in a location that appears to be Makati based on identifiable landmarks.
There was no grand launch or public announcement, so the quiet arrival of these vehicles suggests Aion might be testing the waters before officially launching in the Philippines. Details about the vehicles and the brand's plans remain under wraps. However, the Aion Y SUVs spotted are known for their specific design and impressive specifications in other markets. These vehicles feature a 63.2 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery that powers a single electric motor, delivering 136 hp and 225 Nm of torque. With a range of up to 490 km on a full charge, according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standards, the Aion Y brings efficiency with performance to the table.
Inside, the Aion Y has a spacious interior with a 10.25-inch digital display and a large 14.6-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Other luxury features include automatic climate control with rear vents, a panoramic sunroof, and leather upholstery, positioning it as a strong contender in the upscale EV market.
With no official announcements, we’re all left wondering. Details on when Aion will officially start selling their electric cars in the Philippines are still up in the air, but there's a good chance we'll see them by year-end. Aion is part of the GAC group, which is represented by Astara in the Philippines. While we're all scratching our heads about the official launch, feel free to browse GAC’s available models on AutoDeal and even request a quote with just one click.
