In recent years, Kia has turned the dial to 11 in terms of aggressiveness with its styling. Evident in its recent SUVs like the Niro, Sportage, and EV9. For the Picanto, it seems Kia has done the same thing for its upcoming refresh, as revealed by leaked images online.
Multiple forums and websites, such as The Korean Car Blog and Autospy, showcased images of the Hyundai i10's brother. These pictures reveal a noticeably boxier front end, a flatter face, and a slightly higher hood compared to its previous design. The headlights are now arranged in a vertical stack, with a chrome bar connecting the lights in the middle. Up top, the Kia logo is placed just above the bar connecting the lights of the Picanto.

At the sides, the photos suggest that the Picanto’s wheels draw inspiration from the EV9 model, at least for the leaked GT-Line model. These alloy wheels feature a stylish two-tone finish of black and chrome. Moving to the rear, the refreshed Picanto sports a sleek full-width light bar that seamlessly connects the two LED taillights. Additionally, to enhance its sporty appeal, the GT-Line variant now has rear bumper elements resembling a diffuser.

Inside, the leaked photos show a new instrument cluster and new graphics for its eight-inch infotainment screen carried over from its previous update in 2020. However, since the photos are of the Picanto GT-Line variant, we cannot confirm if these new features will also be on lower trim levels of Kia’s tiny hatchback.

Under the hood, the Picanto should retain its current range of powerplants since it is just a refresh. That means the Picanto’s 1.25-liter and 1.0-liter engines will carry on in the new Picanto. If Kia does decide to fit a new engine in the Picanto, we’ll find out along with other new features once Kia officially unveils the refreshed Picanto later this year.
