Kia Philippines has been on a roll recently, launching a selection of new, attractive, and exciting vehicles in the local market. Last year, they launched the Carnival HEV, as well as other notable offerings like the Sonet and EV6. This time around, Kia’s starting 2025 strong with the debut of the Sorento Turbo Hybrid.
Unveiled in all its glory in a grand event at Glorietta, Makati City, the Sorento Turbo Hybrid features the facelifted look of the fourth-generation SUV. Beneath the surface, the Sorento is packing some pretty impressive tech and performance, too. It’s powered by a 1.6-liter, turbocharged inline-four engine that’s assisted by an electric motor. The electric motor is made up of a hybrid starter generator, and is powered by a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery pack complete with a state-of-the-art battery management system.

Combined, the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid pumps out a total system output of 235 PS, or around 231 horsepower, and 367 Nm of torque. It sends power to the wheels via a six-speed automatic HEV transmission.
When it comes to styling, the updated Sorento gets a more striking exterior thanks to new T-shaped headlights. It also gets sleek LED signatures and LED foglights concealed behind the lower intake of the front bumper.
Moving over to the inside, the Sorento gets an upgraded interior, too. It now sports larger displays, as well as a more intuitive touchscreen infotainment unit. All these refinements are sure to go a long way in elevating the driving experience of the updated SUV.

The Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid is offered in three variants. The most accessible of which is the EX Turbo Hybrid variant that retails for P2,188,000. The mid-tier offering is the EX+ Turbo Hybrid, which will set you back P2,588,000. Lastly, the top-tier SX Turbo Hybrid AWD version commands a premium of P2,888,000.
