Before we said goodbye to 2023, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) was hard at work setting up an installation for their latest SUV. This installation is located at C1 Park Bonifacio High Street (BHS) Central in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), and the car in question is none other than the fifth-generation Santa Fe. Though HMPH is quite excited to share with us the new generation of the Santa Fe before launch, HMPH has not provided an exact date for when that launch will happen.
Boxier and more muscular than its predecessors, the 2024 Santa Fe goes in a radically different design direction than its previous iterations. Gone are the swooping curves and soft body lines of the previous generation and in are some straight cuts simpler shapes. The 2024 Santa Fe dropped the sharp Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and replaced it with a more traditional square-shaped piece with the DRLs forming an “H” arrangement. Much like the entire shape of the car, the nose of the Santa Fe also went boxy, with the grilles and trim showcasing the “H” motif as well.
At the back, the Santa Fe’s rear end is simple, the taillights feature the H-shaped light arrangement as the front, and the words Santa Fe are emblazoned on the wide tailgate. Adding to the Santa Fe’s sheer size are the large windows and quarter glass panels, so whichever end you look at the Santa Fe, its size and shape are sure to be imposing. As for specifications and prices of the Santa Fe here in the Philippines, HMPH says they’re planning to release those on the day of the launch meaning we’ll have to wait a little longer.
“Visually, the differences from its predecessor are dramatic. But this iteration still maintains the practicality and performance which we have grown to love with the Santa Fe. We wish to keep some things a little private until its official launch. So, please just wait a little longer as to the final pricing and specs.”
HMPH’s installation in BGC will remain open for viewing until Friday, January 12, 2024. The current unit on display is painted in Terracotta Orange, one of the six colors set to be released to the market. If you’re setting your sights on getting the all-new Santa Fe, head down to BGC to get an in-depth look before the official launch.
