At the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, Ford Philippines showcased the all-new Territory, but it did not come alone, joining it, placed on a tilted platform at the Ford booth is the new Raptor edition of the Ford Ranger pickup.
The details regarding the new truck from Ford have not been disclosed yet. However, Ford did verify that the Raptor will be available in the market in the future. Good news for the people who couldn’t make it in time to buy the previous generation Raptor before Ford PH ran out of available units last year.
As for what equipment the new Ranger Raptor will be packing here in the Philippines, unfortunately, Ford hasn’t released any technical details on the car apart from confirming that it will be coming. However, if we take a look at what Ford presented at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand, it's possible that the 2.0-liter in-line-four bi-turbo diesel engine may be the engine we’re getting.

Of course, we’d like to believe that the monstrous 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo EcoBoost engine will be available for us Filipinos as well, but since we’re in southeast Asia, we advise you to not get your hopes too high before any news about the Raptor’s powertrain is confirmed.
Since we’re talking about engines anyway, let’s talk about that 2.0-liter powerhouse in the Thai-spec Ranger Raptor. The bi-turbo engine fitted on the Raptors over there produces 207 hp and 500 Nm of torque, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Sounds familiar? That’s because that mill is the same one in the current top spec Ranger Wildtrak we’ve got here.
If you were one of the unlucky people who were not able to get their hands on the previous Ford Ranger Raptor, then this might be your time. Ford hasn’t announced a specific launch date yet but, with the Ranger being a popular vehicle here in the country, the Raptor’s arrival might be a priority for Ford Philippines.
