Month after month (after month), yes, the lead of the Ford Ranger in the sales performance of Ford Philippines in the local automotive market. We’ve been monitoring the bestseller since the start of the year, and it seems to be undefeated by its fellow blue oval brand siblings, the EcoSport and Everest, that would only rank second and third in the sales department.
With retail sales of 2,177 vehicles this July 2018, the Ranger posed a 3% increase compared to its June 2018 record. Digging further its sales performance, the top-selling pickup accounted for 36% increase from the prior year to 1,248 units sold. On the year-to-date basis, the Ranger has shown 22% increase with a total of 6,718 vehicles sold.
We are off to a great start this second half of the year, with traffic at our Ford showrooms set to become busier through the remainder of 2018 as we continue to refresh our vehicle lineup in the Philippines.
Taking the second spot is the bestselling Ford crossover, the EcoSport. It recorded a total of 416 vehicles sold in July, pushing its year-to-date sales to 3,658 units. Wrapping the top three, again this month, is the Everest which contributed to the July total with sales of 410 vehicles. The mid-size SUV recorded its year-to-date sales to 3,588 vehicles.
When it comes to the sales of the new Mustang, the figures remained steady in July with 34 vehicles sold for the month, pushing its year-to-date sales up 28 percent to 285 vehicles.
In order to continue its good year forward, Ford Philippines extends its promotional deals for its top three nameplates. The American brand entices again the local car buyers with amazing offers of cash discounts or low all-in down payment that come with inclusive free three-year LTO registration, one-year comprehensive insurance, and chattel mortgage fees. Wise move, we agree, as we foresee sales pouring in for Ford PH before the rainy months finally turn dry.
