Have you noticed more Ford vehicles plying on Metro Manila roads? That’s because Ford Philippines 2015 sales performance for November soared to 55% year-over-year to 2,975 units sold.
Managing Director of Ford Philippines Lance Mosley said that customers are looking into Ford because of their vehicle portfolio’s strength. He also emphasized consumers recognize the “quality, durability, performance and style” of their vehicles.
Debuting its retail launch way back in September, the all-new Everest leads the November sales growth with 1,151 units sold. Its redesigned front end looks meaner with its new grille and bumper. Its headlights are spruced up a little to achieve its aggressive front fascia.
Nothing much has changed inside but Ford made sure of a smoother and more comfortable ride by adding a Terrain Management System. This enables the driver to tackle any surface with just a switch of a knob. The new Everest also features an electronic locking rear differential and Hill Descent Control and Launch Assist.
Performance-wise the new Everest can either have the 2.2L Duratorq 4-cylinder TDCi engine that can max out at 160 hp and 385 Nm of torque. If you’re going with horsepower, 3.2L Duratorq 5-cylinder TDCi engine can produce up to 200 hp and 470 Nm of torque. These can be mated to either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.
Designed for urban living, the EcoSport is another major contributor to Ford’s November sales. Selling 869 units, the EcoSport marks the highest sales ever since its local market introduction in 2014. According to Ford, EcoSport’s year-to-date sales jumped to 7,902 units, a 69% increase than last year.
Classified as a compact-SUV, it features a 200mm ground clearance and 550mm water wading.
For its exterior design, the front EcoSport sports angled headlights and noticeably big grille. Inside, leather seats, climate control and a roomy space for 5 people are available.
The Ford’s Ranger lands on the 3rd spot with 716 units sold. The new pickup truck model which debuted in August is a force to reckon with - design and performance wise. Outside the vehicle sports a tough and muscular appearance with its hood, grille, and headlights making a bold statement. For its performance, the Ranger is powered by a 2.2L Duratorq TDCi diesel. If there’s the need for a larger engine, the premium model Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 features a turbocharged 3.2L.
The Ford Ranger is available as a 4x4 or a 4x2 which is mated to a choice of 3 transmissions, 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, or a 6-speed automatic.
Not to be left behind, the premium Explorer which has new safety features, smarter technology, and design enhancements has sold 80 units in November. This gave its year-to-dates sales a boost to 862 units.
