The secret’s out, and the Ford Ranger PHEV does not disappoint—it’s even stronger than the Raptor! Ford recently rolled out the Ranger PHEV at the 2024 IAA Transportation Show in Germany.
Revealed at last, the new addition to the Ranger family stands out because it uses a traditional engine with electric power, making it more powerful than ever. It's equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter gasoline engine linked to a 75.0-kilowatt electric motor and a battery pack with a capacity of 11.8 kilowatt-hours. Together, they give the truck a powerful 275 hp and 690 Nm of torque, which is even more than the high-powered Ranger Raptor offers.
The hybrid Ranger can go about 28 miles just on electric power, making it a great choice for saving on fuel and cutting down on emissions. It charges up fully in under four hours, and it comes with handy features like the Pro Power Onboard system. The system lets you use the truck’s battery to run tools right from the vehicle, which is perfect for work sites. You can even choose a more powerful 6.9-kW version of this system if you need more power.
In terms of capabilities, the Ranger PHEV does not fall short. It can carry a payload of up to 2,204 lbs and tow up to 7,716 lbs. The high-spec Stormtrak version includes premium features like matrix LED headlights, a 360-degree camera, a top-notch B&O sound system, and the Pro Trailer Backup Assist system, making it both a workhorse and a luxury ride.
We're all asking the same question: Will the Ford Ranger PHEV be sold in the Philippines? It would make a lot of sense here, especially with the increasing focus on green and fuel-efficient vehicles, not to mention how popular Ford Rangers already are. So far, Ford hasn’t confirmed anything about the availability of the Ranger PHEV in our market.
