When it debuted back in June 2023, the GAC GS3 Emzoom instantly made its presence known with its aggressive styling and impressive performance. Taking off the rather conservative exterior and swapping it for a sportier look gave the GS3 Emzoom the edge in the competitive subcompact crossover market. Not to mention it also has an equally competitive sub-P1.3-million price tag and an array of features to boot.
The GS3 Emzoom is back in the spotlight after completing testing by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP). Good news for GS3 Emzoom owners, it passed with flying colors. The ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) has awarded the GAC GS3 Emzoom the highest possible safety rating of five stars, following its impressive performance under the more stringent 2021-2025 assessment protocol.
The evaluation spanned four key domains: Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), which accounts for 40 points of the overall score, and Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcyclist Safety (MS), each contributing 20 points.
In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, which includes frontal impact, side impact, and head protection technology, the GS3 Emzoom scored 36.60 out of a possible 40 points.
For Child Occupant Protection, the GS3 Emzoom earned 16.43 out of 20 points, excelling in dynamic tests, as well as in the evaluation of its child restraint and detection systems.
The vehicle's advanced driver-assist systems contributed to a score of 17.86 out of 20 in the Safety Assist category. This assessment covered features such as effective braking and avoidance, seatbelt reminders, autonomous emergency braking, and advanced safety assist technologies.
Finally, in the Motorcycle Safety category, which considered features like blind spot monitoring and auto high beam—both available as optional equipment—the GS3 Emzoom scored 17.50 out of 20 points. Overall, the GAC GS3 Emzoom achieved a total score of 88.39 points, fully deserving its five-star rating.
“ASEAN NCAP is proud that the GAC made the leap of having its latest model, the GAC Emzoom, to undergo the ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 assessment. True to its commitment to safety, the GAC Emzoom has ensured a well-deserved safety performance from both its passive and active safety features offered in the model.”
There you have it—if the GS3 Emzoom is on your radar, you can now add top-notch safety to its list of advantages. To make your car-buying process even smoother, consider using the AutoDeal website or app. It's convenient, user-friendly, and takes the hassle out of purchasing your new car.
