Long-distance driving is about to get a lot easier. The GAC S7 PHEV will soon provide an impressive range of over 1,000 kilometers. As GAC’s first model with its third-generation plug-in hybrid system, the S7 has a fuel-efficient engine and electric power for a smooth and reliable driving experience. It is expected to sit between the Emkoo and GS8 in GAC’s lineup in the Philippines.
The S7 PHEV has a length of 4,900 mm, a width of 1,950 mm, and a height of 1,780 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,880 mm, so there is plenty of space for passengers and cargo, especially with a ground clearance of 200 mm. The hybrid powertrain includes a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 159 hp, working alongside a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The setup allows the S7 PHEV to have both efficiency and power, and with a top speed of 185 km/h, the car can manage long highway drives without a problem.
On the outside, the S7 features GAC’s latest design philosophy, called “hidden edge in smoothness.” It uses bold styling with clean lines, giving it a sleek yet practical appearance. Up front, the Skyline light strip stretches 2,618 mm and is paired with AI headlights containing 2,248 lamp beads. While full interior details have yet to be released, GAC has a reputation for spacious cabins and functional layouts.

For safety, the S7 PHEV includes GAC’s advanced L2++ driving assistance system. The technology uses lidar and cameras for features like adaptive cruise control and collision prevention, which make driving easier and safer, especially on longer journeys.
The GAC S7 PHEV is expected to launch in China in the first half of 2025, with a Philippine release likely to follow. The long range, efficient hybrid system, and modern features make it a great option for those considering a hybrid SUV.
