At the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) reiterated its commitment to delivering the best products it can provide to the Philippine market with a showcase of its latest innovations. The brand’s theme for this edition of the PIMS is “Innovations for you” a theme that encapsulates Isuzu’s approach to addressing the evolving needs of individuals and business owners.
“This year, every vehicle we present reflects our dedication to combining top-tier performance with modern solutions, designed to meet both personal and commercial needs. This line-up demonstrates our unwavering commitment to delivering the best driving experiences while empowering businesses nationwide to succeed and move closer to achieving carbon neutrality.”
In their booth, IPC unveiled two versions of the D-MAX 4x4, a standard version equipped with its new Differential Lock System and Rough Terrain Mode and a customized version to show the possibilities of what the D-MAX 4x4 rig can be.
The modified D-MAX on the other hand, features extensive exterior upgrades showcasing the versatility of the D-MAX. The upgrades include a tough, TJM steel bumper, a modular side step, and a modular rear bumper. Built for overlanding adventures, this D-MAX is also fitted with a Manley Canopy camper that comes with a 200Ah lithium battery, an 85-liter water tank, portable air-conditioning, a 270-degree awning, and a portable shower. The rugged look is capped off by 17-inch Method wheels, and Nitto Grappler off-road tires.
IPC also presented the mu-X, however, it goes to the other end of the spectrum with its luxury theme. Dubbed the mu-X Executive Edition, this version of the mu-X features a more luxurious vibe, boasting a unique red and black leather interior that’s accentuated with red stitching. The second row has also been given the luxury treatment with the bench seats swapped out for what IPC calls ‘Custom VIP” seats. These seats feature a power recline function, leg rests, and massage functions. Meanwhile, the second row has been given USB Type-C charging ports and ambient lighting. To set it apart from other SUVs on the road, Isuzu outfitted the mu-X Executive Edition with 20-inch Black Rhino wheels wrapped in Nitto S City tires.
Moving to vehicles for business owners, IPC revealed the Isuzu Traviz Concept Cargo van, IPC’s solution for logistics and last-mile delivery businesses. The Traviz Concept Cargo features a gross payload capacity of 1,660 kg and a flexible rear cargo hold.
For businesses that need a tougher vehicle, IPC presents the new EW5 Tractor Head. This robust truck is powered by a powerful GH11E Euro V-compliant engine. This engine delivers 409 hp and a whopping 1,990 Nm of torque delivered to a 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission. This new player in the heavy-duty truck segment is sure to appeal to new and old Isuzu truck owners alike with its power and easy-to-use transmission.
Lastly, the star of the show is Isuzu’s N-Series EV Concept Truck. This electric truck is powered by a 90kW electric motor that produces 120 hp and 370 Nm of torque. Paired with a 40kWh battery, the Isuzu N-Series EV Concept can drive up to a claimed range of 115 km. Furthermore, this EV truck is equipped with a Type 1 standard EV charger as well as a CHAdeMO fast charger.
