Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) donated P250,000 Philippine Pesos in cash to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) last March 9, 2023, just in time for World Kidney Day 2023, which was held at the NKTI Atrium in Quezon City.
This isn’t IPC’s first and only time donating to a medical institution. IPC has made it a point to engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as a part of its 25th inaugural anniversary, which happened back in 2022. IPC’s Road to Progress vision aims to align its business goals and commitment through a new perspective. The company aims to focus on the environment, society, and governance.
The latest happening is in line with IPC’s social aspect in its vision. IPC is providing a cash donation as a sign of its support for the good health and well-being of Filipinos. This will be the first donation in a string of many more to be done by IPC.
As for NKTI, the institute conducted a four-day celebration that started on March 6, 2023, and ended on March 9, 2023. NKTI had a bunch of activities, exhibits, forums, and free examinations to help raise awareness about the importance of the kidney for the overall health of a person. The theme for NKTI’s event was “Kidney Health For All.”
It was on the last day of NKTI’s celebration that IPC representatives, came in and handed Isuzu’s donation over to the institute.
“As Filipinos’ “responsible partner”, Isuzu Philippines is honored to provide support to this global movement.”
NKTI Medical Social Service Division Chief, Leonides Basada, stated that the cash donation will be used for the medical needs of NKTI’s indigent patients so they can continue their peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. “We are very thankful for Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s benevolent act. The Php 250,000 cash donation will mean a lot to our dialysis and transplant patients. It will be a big assistance in their everyday medical expense,” said Chief Basada.
