Boondocks, an English word that has Filipino origins. Boondock Edition, A Japanese truck designed and manufactured by Isuzu with input from Filipino car clubs such as D-max Club, Team ICE, and Team Isuzu Pilipinas. When two come together, something substantial can come out as a result.
Just like the word that it is named after, the Isuzu D-max Boondock edition is adapted to the environment that Filipinos might find themselves either on the highway, back-roads, or unpaved paths. Isuzu made its capable truck a tad bit more capable with some notable improvements. The D-max Boondock comes with a few bits and details not found on stock D-maxes.

The wheel and tire setup that Isuzu has fitted this pickup with are notable. A set of all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels help the truck find grip on either the road or the dirt. Though these are not a dedicated set of off-roading tires, it’s a happy medium for anyone looking for a truck that transitions from the asphalt to a potentially loose surface.
In order to keep the wheels and chassis in line, a set of mono-tube nitrogen-filled shock absorbers feature increased damping rates for improved steering control for multiple terrains. The upgraded suspension system, wheels and tires improve the overall grip and handling over most terrain.

While the under chassis has been reworked, the engine still retains the powerful performance that D-max owners are all familiar with. The 3.0L BluePower diesel engine puts out a hefty 174hp and 380 Nm of torque. The same 6-speed automatic is used for the Boondock Edition.

To complement the look, a pair of steel side-steps make ingress of this rather tall vehicle more effortless. The parts are also performing double duty, providing protection to the body of the pickup. A honeycomb design with the Boondock logo makes these steps easy to clean. The added design pattern ensures that passengers won’t slip even if things get a little muddy.
