After making a solid appearance at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, Jetour Auto Philippines seems to have more up its sleeve in the coming months. Jetour already has a three-car lineup here in the Philippines consisting of the affordable X70 SUV and its luxurious counterpart the X70 Plus, the cute Ice Cream EV, and the tech-loaded Dashing SUV.
According to a report made by automotive media outlet AutoIndustriya, Jetour Auto Philippines will be bringing in another SUV model for the Philippines. Aside from the X70 range and the Dashing, Jetour also has another lineup of SUVs that cater more to the off-roading scene, the brand calls it the Jetour T-1 and sources say that we won’t have to wait too long for this tough and buff SUV to come to our shores.
Bart Wang, who is the Deputy General Manager for Chery Commercial Vehicle International Marketing says that the Jetour T-1 is expected to make its way to the Philippines as early as September. Wang, who made appearances at both MIAS 2023 and Auto Shanghai 2023, stated that this launch is part of the company's strategy to introduce a new model to the Philippines every six months.

Although detailed specifications for the Philippine market are not yet available, it is anticipated that the T-1 may come equipped with a turbocharged engine. According to sources, one probable option is a 1.5-liter turbocharged plug-in hybrid, while another potential choice could be a 1.6-liter direct-injection turbo four-cylinder engine for the T-1 for the Philippine spec T-1.
We’re still in the dark in regard to performance figures but we do know that all options will be paired with a four-wheel drive system to enable off-road capabilities. As for transmission choices, drivers can expect either a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox or an 8-speed automatic.
Looking at it, there’s no doubt that the Jetour T-1 can trade punches with the big boys as long as looks are concerned, so we’re excited to see how the T-1 performs on the road and off it. We can’t wait to see this car take on the trails here in the Philippines.
