A few weeks ago, Kia Philippines was hyping up the arrival of the facelifted 2024 Kia Seltos for the local market. Today, true to their word, Kia has brought the covers off the refreshed subcompact crossover, now featuring a new look and a heavily redesigned interior. Just in time before the festive season begins.
Starting with the looks, the 2024 Seltos' most obvious change starts with the front clip. The substantial makeover features a fresh grille and redesigned headlight elements. Enhanced with additional black highlights, the revamped front bumper adds to the bold aesthetic. New LED daytime running lights have been added as well as a new skid plate to go with the refreshed bumper. For the higher variants of the Seltos, LED headlights are included in the package.
At the rear, the 2024 Seltos receives an updated LED lightbar and more sharply designed LED taillights, accentuating the vehicle's sporty aesthetics. Mirroring the front fascia, the rear bumper is also equipped with a skid plate for an additional touch of flair. Looking at the sides, the 2024 Seltos gets a fresh set of 17-inch alloys with 215/60 size tires highlighted by black plastic skirts and fenders. Other features you’ll find in the new Seltos are power folding mirrors, and chrome or body-colored door handles depending on the variant.
In terms of dimensions, the 2024 Seltos spans a length of 4,385 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, and a height of 1,620 mm. Add to that a substantial 2,630 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 190 mm, it combines size and proportions for a well-balanced profile.
Inside, the redesign continues on with the Seltos now sporting a futuristic and posh interior. Starting at the driver’s side, the base LX and mid-range EX feature sporty analog gauges complemented by a 4.2-inch multi-info display. In contrast, the top-tier SX boasts a spacious 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster seamlessly integrating the multi-info display.
For the infotainment system, Kia offers two types for the Seltos. The LX and EX feature an eight-inch touchscreen, while the top-tier SX is equipped with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen system. Despite the size difference, you’ll be happy to know that both systems include Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Additionally, all variants come standard with a six-speaker sound system.
Another massive change is the crossover’s HVAC controls, which have been adjusted to blend with the new interior. Lower-priced variants feature a single-zone automatic climate control, while higher-grade variants are equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control. Depending on the chosen variant, the crossover offers a choice between cloth seats or full leather upholstery. Additional features available on the 2024 Seltos include a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad, 60:40 split rear seats, smart keyless entry, push-button start, LED ambient lighting, and a tilt and telescopic steering column.
Regarding safety features, standard features across the line include a set of front airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera. The top-tier SX, however, goes a step further with two additional front-side airbags and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control with stop & go, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, and forward collision avoidance assist.
Finally, we get to the engine, where Kia is offering the 2024 Seltos with two powertrain choices. The first option is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated Smartstream engine, generating 113 hp at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. This engine is mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
Next up, there's a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with direct injection. Despite its smaller displacement, this specific engine delivers 138 hp at 6,000 rpm and 242 Nm of torque within the 1,500 and 3,200 rpm range. Another major difference between the 1.5-liter engine and this 1.4-liter turbo is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission featuring selectable drive modes.
The 2024 Kia Seltos is offered in a range of colors, these include Gravity Gray, Pluton Blue, and Snow White Pearl (with an optional black roof). Even more good news is that the all-new Seltos is now available in Kia’s 46 dealerships across the country.
Here are the pricing and variants for the refreshed crossover:
- 1.5 LX IVT: P1,198,000
- 1.5 EX IVT: P1,288,000
- 1.4 SX DCT: P1,688,000
