Ford North America has just announced on its website that it will be s the new 2022 Ford Expedition during the press days of the Motor Bella auto festival. The announcement also confirms that new trim levels of the Expedition are also set to launch alongside its facelifted model that is reportedly “designed to broaden the full-size SUV’s appeal with customers.” The new SUV is set to make its appearance on September 21, 2021.
This could mean that the Blue Oval’s popular SUV could be getting its ST and Timberline trim revealed at the auto festival. While not much is known about the facelifted model, what is knowledge based on other reports is that the new Expedition will have a revised front end. These revisions possibly include new headlights, a new grille, a new front bumper, and possibly a new tailgate design as well. Aside from this, there are no further details about the cabin of the SUV and if there are going to be any noticeable changes with it. Even further specifications about the Expedition such as its powertrain options also remain a mystery, however, likely, it will just carry over its existing engine options for the American market.
Aside from the 2022 Ford Expedition, its more luxurious version, the Lincoln Navigator will also be showcased alongside it for the SUV’s debut. The new Blue Oval SUV will also be displayed along with the Lincoln Aviator Shinola Concept vehicle. While other details about the SUV remain a mystery, it is still unknown if Ford Philippines will be bringing in the new model any time soon. The latest version of the Expedition recently launched locally and it could take some time for the localized wing of the automaker to bring the refreshed model into the Philippine market. For now, all we can do is wait and see what Ford has done to update one of its popular SUVs.
