Ford Philippines passed the mid of 3rd quarter with a total of 3,166 vehicles sold for the month of August. This is 12% higher compared from the same month last year, and is still led by the brand's Ranger, Everest, and EcoSport.
“Our biggest-selling nameplates continued to drive our momentum in August. We’re looking to close the third quarter strong, while we continue to work with our dealers to further enhance the overall customer experience.”
Leading the August 2017 sales is the Ranger pickup truck, which surged an increase of 65% compared to a year ago. Having 15 variants in the local market, it amassed 1,038 total sales and has earned its title as the country's second best-selling pickup truck. On a year-to-date basis, the Ranger model increased by 24% and recorded to have sold 6,550 units nationwide.
The Everest SUV, on the other hand, received an 18% rise in sales on a year-over-year term. The midsize SUV garnered 1,027 sales, which pushed its year-to-date record to 7,797 units.
Last of the 3 leading nameplates, the EcoSport subcompact crossover has maintained position as 1 of Ford's best-selling vehicles. The crossover's sales grew by 8% from August 2016 with 921 vehicles being sold in the country. This resulted to driving its year-to-date sales up to 15% with 7,013 units.
Meanwhile, the North American-made models have also contributed to Ford's performance last August. First off, the Explorer SUV experienced a 16% sales growth from over a year ago with 88 units, which pushed its year-to-date record to 4% or a total of 724 vehicles. Lastly, the Mustang sports coupe also boosted its year-to-date sales by 24% to 256 units with its August sales. The 'Stang sold 34 units for August 2017.
