We’ve been eyeing the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback for quite a while now since its launch last March at the 2018 New York International Motor Show. This time, the Japanese brand released a few commercial advertisements that make us crave for this great-looking hatch even more. So let’s all be wowed and feel frustrated at the same time, as there is no news of its arrival in the country yet. Rubbing salt onto our wounded hearts, eh?
With the brand’s new campaign titled “Greater Than”, Toyota showed that there’s so much more to life than keeping yourself immersed with gadgets and social networking sites. Try to discover and experience new things, go to different places, and create memories along the way.
This commercial dares us to be more different and untie ourselves from the norm, just like the all-new Corolla. With its new face, this hatch received better styling on its front fascia with a huge trapezoidal grille and LED lighting, all the way to the rear, with the perfectly chiseled design. This refreshing exterior design makes its overall appearance more aggressive and unique.
Inside, you’ll never get bored during a drive thanks to its standard Entune 3.0 audio with 8-inch touchscreen head unit, Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay Compatibility, and Wi-Fi connectivity available for a fun-filled ride.
Just look at how fun it is to drive! This new version of the Corolla hatch runs on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform and comes with 2.0L engine that can put out 168 hp. This powertrain is partnered with either a 6-speed manual or dynamic-shift continuous variable transmission, which means more power and better driving dynamics.
This hot hatch is also packed with safety and driver assist features as it is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. This system has outstanding perks including Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (automatic), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (manual) and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection.
Lastly, this Toyota ad portrays how the 2018 Corolla is fit for those who have adventurous lifestyle. It can go with you throughout your journeys in life – be it good or even the pretty bad ones. Also, it’s a hatchback so it can fit into narrow roads and less hassle when looking for a parking space, too.
Aside from all of these, want to know one more reason why we badly want this to grace the Philippine market? The 2019 Corolla Hatchback is one of the safest passenger cars out there. It has recorded an overall 5-star rating at the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). See? We really are missing out on one of the greatest things in life. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope for Toyota Philippines to hear our humble request.
