SUVs are known for their rugged, aggressive appeal on and off the road. However, Suzuki might have just changed that a little with the introduction of the e-Survivor electric compact SUV concept.
While, of course, it still looks aggressive in its own way, the minimalist-futuristic design pulls in more eyes rather than it being intimidating.
Outside, the concept vehicle offers a Jimny-style fascia with the LED-lit grille and round headlamps. The large wheels then give the e-Survivor a considerable height for off-roading needs. The e-Survivor also gives a glimpse in regards to how future compact SUVs might look like: glass-dominated door panel and the body's polygonal shape.
Beach buggies are well known for having no roof. The only roof that this concept has is its T-top, and this goes well with the e-Survivor's design. This, along with the glass door panels, offers a good view of what's inside the cabin. The seats and steering wheel are covered in orange, which perfectly contrast the blue accent on the wheels.
Though Suzuki hints an electric motor with all-wheel drive (AWD) system, there’s no exact detail regarding the size of the engine and its power output. We might have to wait till October 27 before we can get the in-depth specification of this Japanese electric compact SUV concept.
The e-Survivor electric 2-seater compact SUV will be showcased at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show. It will go alongside the Xbee compact crossover wagon, Spacia, Spacia Custom, Carry Open-Air Market concept vehicles, as well as Suzuki's fleet of new motorcycles.
