Towards the end of 2019, Toyota Motor Philippines announced that it would be making a phone app that will help streamline the process of ownership as well as maintenance for all of its vehicles. The MyToyotaPH phone app will grant owners access to the brand’s parts and services straight from their mobile phones. The application will also make inquiries a lot easier through its direct messaging service which connects customers with dealerships to book their appointments. The tool also gives customers reminders which sends 24-hours prior to their appointment and lets the user monitor the progress of their vehicle throughout its servicing. Job items and service cost estimates are also easily available in the tool providing customers with an idea as to how long the servicing process will take.
To use the mobile application users can create an account for the app users can visit the brand’s MyToyotaPH website and register their Toyota vehicle. Once their account has been created the user can already start setting up an appointment by selecting their preferred dealers. The Toyota application was launched on May 4, 2020, to dealerships that will be open according to the area’s respective quarantine period. All of the Japanese brand’s service centers will be open and will be available for service booking once the enhanced community quarantine has been lifted.
The move to push for the roll-out of the MyToyotaPH application coincides with the new regulation put up by the Philippine government with regards to the reopening of dealerships under General Community Quarantine. The use of the mobile app further ensures everyone's safety by effectively promoting social distancing lowering the risk of infection. Toyota Philippines has already issued guidelines with regards as to how its dealerships will function once they have reopened. The Japanese brand has emphasized social distancing and by limiting the number of people entering a dealership and with temperature checks. Toyota personnel will also be wearing Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) when conducting their duties with a facemask as the minimum requirement. The Japanese brand will also be regularly disinfecting its dealerships prior to reopening and once they have reopened.
