In February 2024, Thailand is set to welcome the updated Toyota Corolla Cross, which is currently gaining huge interest and attention in the Philippines, as car enthusiasts and potential buyers talk about whether the upgraded model will make its way to the local market.
The updated Corolla Cross is coming with a revamped look and introduces several improvements, such as new headlights and tail light designs, as well as new 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a more modernized look.

The interior will also be receiving technological upgrades, which include an electric handbrake system, a large 12.3-inch digital gauge, and a 10.5-inch touchscreen. Plus, the car now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, improving its general connectivity features.

Safety features have also been upgraded with the addition of eight airbags and the introduction of a distance-keeping automatic cruise control system, All-Speed Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, capable of functioning at speeds up to 0 km/h. While Toyota keeps the vehicle's 1.8-liter hybrid engine, there is speculation about the possibility of a new 2.0-liter gasoline engine variant. However, it is still vague if this engine option will be available in Thailand or other markets, including the Philippines.
The Toyota Corolla Cross first launched in the Philippines on August 20, 2020, offering two models: the 1.8 G and the 1.8 V Hybrid. Priced at P1,285,000 for the 1.8 G CVT and P1,650,000 for the 1.8 V Hybrid, the vehicle gave consumers another choice among the crossover lineup. In March 2022, Toyota expanded the Corolla Cross lineup with the introduction of a new hybrid GR Sport variant.
It's no secret that the Corolla Cross has been well-received in the Philippines. So, with Thailand set to launch the upgraded vehicle in February 2024, the Philippines keep their fingers crossed, hoping to see the upgraded Corolla Cross on their roads.
Will we get it, too? Stay tuned, and let's see what Toyota has in store for the Filipino market.
