Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced that the second round of the Toyota Gazzon Racing Vios Cup festival will be postponed due to changes in the 2021 racing season. The racing series debuted last July 2021 after a hiatus in 2021.
The second round was slated to resume on September 11, 2021, with three legs, however, due to the current quarantine protocols and the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country, this has been moved to October 16, 2021, instead. This was done in order to prioritize the health and safety of the participants. With that said, this longer period in between rounds gives the teams and racers more time to prepare for the second round of the event.
As committed when we opened the 2021 race season, the safety and well-being of our participants and partners will be our top priority. In view of the current surge in COVID-19 cases and the enforcement of new quarantine guidelines, we decided it is best for everyone to move the 2nd leg originally scheduled on September 11 to a later date - October 16.

He continues by stating that “We look forward to seeing you on the next race weekend in October. For now, we would like to remind everyone to stay safe and strictly follow safety and precautionary measures.”
While the second round has been postponed until October, fans of the racing series can still rewatch round one of the events if they want to get their fix of racing in the Philippines. These can be rewatched through the brand’s official Facebook page and Youtube channels—Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing PH. Fans can also watch the replays of the GR GT Cup if they want to catch more local racing but a virtual playing field.
