Toyota’s legendary nameplate is available in the market again as the GR Supra, but the Japanese brand isn’t so quick to forget its roots. The two forefathers of the 5th-generation A90 we have today will get some out-of-production components as part of the Gazoo Racing Heritage Parts project.
Toyota Gazoo Racing announced that additional spare parts will be made and sold for the A70 and A80 Toyota Supra. The program will be made available in several regions, namely in North America, Europe, as well as other countries overseas.
To support customers who’ve kept their older vehicles, the project aims to reproduce parts that have been discontinued to keep these legends running and on the road. This will be the first addition of spare parts since the project’s 2020 announcement for the Toyota 2000 GT.
Toyota will gradually make the parts starting on July 1, 2021. Following that, the parts will be available at Toyota dealers just like normal genuine Toyota parts. However, customers must note that these pieces will be limited production with the special cooperation of suppliers. After the production period for each part ends, each reproduction will only be available as long as stocks last. Part numbers and production periods will be published on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Website, from July 1, beginning with the parts that are ready.
