JP Tuason of Tuason Racing School wants to see the rebirth of motorsports in the country beyond the current ones we have like the Vios Cup, FORS, and the Philippine Endurance Challenge. He worked with West Racing Cars Japan in order to make that happen with the new Giti-Formula V1.
The Formula V1 is a single-make race series like the Vios cup, but will use West Racing’s VITA-01. It’s an open cockpit, single-seater car that has a 1.5L Toyota engine. Despite the modest power rating of 108 horsepower, the lightweight nature of the Vita makes it have a great power-to-weight ratio, making it top out at 200 km/h.
JP Tuason aims for the Formula V1 to be the bridge into bigger motorsports in the country, and to enable drivers for more opportunities abroad.
