GAC Motor Philippines presents it’s latest offering, the 2019 GAC GS8 luxury SUV, to shake up and capture the full size SUV market. Originally debuting in the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, the GAC GS8 is filled to the brim with technology and is set to become the largest vehicle in the company’s lineup. At the heart of the SUV lies a 2.0L turbocharged engine pushing out 198hp and 320nm of torque. The gasoline mill gives this machine some kick – should the need arise. This power is delivered through a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters allowing for more control of the power going through two or four wheels giving you that continent conquering capability depending on which variant you choose.
Right at the front are a pair of Vertical Matrix Auto LED projector headlights that give this machine quite the road presence. In addition to it’s already robust exterior are daytime LED running lights and GAC’s signature flying dynamics grille, further enhancing its muscular presence. On all fours are sculpted split spoke 19 inch alloys spicing it up with a more luxurious look to the powerful exterior design.
To really shake up the market, GAC has equipped the GS8 with an arsenal of cameras in key areas around the exterior to give the driver improved visibility in tight situations. The interior has not been left out either, since a two dial color gauge cluster greets you as you sit on the leather upholstered seats. A vibrant 10.1 inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB is supplemented with wireless charging technology to enhance your infotainment experience.
Ensuring that you truly ride around in luxury, the GS8 also comes equipped with power adjustable seats with memory settings, keyless entry and a push start button to bring the machine to life. A sunroof brings in some natural lighting and the three-zone air conditioning keeps you cool in your Manila-proof automobile.
GAC has not held back either with it’s safety features. These include seven airbags as standard (Driver's Airbag, Front Passenger's Airbag, Side Airbag,Curtain Airbag, Knee Airbag), ISOFIX Child Seat Anchor Points, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), stability control, electronic door locks, immobilizer, security alarm, and even lane departure warning technology with blind spot indicators.
With a starting price of P1,880,000 for the GS8 2.0 4x2 GE, this full size SUV offers luxury at a price point lower than most of its competition, really shaking up the market by offering luxury for the least amount of money.
