Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently unveiled another variant to the D-MAX pickup lineup. Dubbed the D-MAX X-Series, this new addition boasts an aerodynamic body kit, a sophisticated interior theme, and special items from the sports brand Under Armor.
The D-MAX X-Series, which still has the same silhouette as its normal variants, comes with a gun-metallic grille topped with a red Isuzu badge. This pickup also has gun-metallic skirts with red highlights, newly-designed 2-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, and a rear cargo spoiler for a sporty, aerodynamic look. Furthermore, the side view mirrors, door handles, and rear bumpers are covered with a chrome finish.
On the other hand, the new D-MAX variant has a classy Piano Black interior theme. Moreover, it has black leather seats with red stitches and special X-Series badges. It also has a push start button, huge touchscreen head unit, and automatic climate control.
There is no denying that the Isuzu D-MAX is an ideal vehicle for leisure activities and is also a highly capable workhorse. With the arrival of the new D-MAX X-Series, the model now addresses the lifestyle mobility requirement of active and urbane families too. So now, no other pickup truck available in the local market can offer the combination of utility, reliability, versatility and high style that the D-MAX X-Series does,” said IPC President Hajime Koso.
Under the hood, the familiar 3.0 4JJI-TC (HI) Variable Geometry System (VGS) diesel engine with turbocharger and intercooler can be seen. This is then mated to either a 5-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift or a 5-speed manual transmission. The pair can generate up to 163 hp and 380 Nm of torque and can produce a fuel consumption rating of 38.46 km/L (based on the 2016 Petron/Department of Energy Fuel Economy Run).
With the unveiling of the D-MAX X-Series, IPC announced that they have partnered with the sports brand Under Armor. This partnership will let future owners of the pickup receive a wide selection of Under Armor products to fit their lifestyle such as sports polos, streaker or coolswitch shirts; golf towel, sports cap, sack pack, and duffle bag.
The D-MAX X-Series, which is exclusive to 4x2 variants, has 3 colors – Splash White, Venetian Red, and Cosmic Black. According to IPC, the pickup will be priced between P1,260,000 and P1,330,000.
