About GAZ Philippines

GAZ (Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod) Group is one of Russia's largest manufacturer of commercial and industrial vehicles founded in 1932. The Russian automaker is known for manufacturing reliable, fuel-efficient and at the same time, eco-friendly vans, trucks, and buses. It started out as a Ford-supported car manufacturing company in the 1920's. Its first ever model was based on the Ford Model A, while its first independently-produce car was the GAZ-11. Now, the company is known as one of Russian's leading automotive manufacturer of vehicles for business, public transport, ambulances, among others. In 2014, GAZ served as the official transport provider of the Winter Olympics held in Sochi, Russia.

Currently, GAZ is comprised of light commercial vehicles, medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks, and buses. Business reached the Philippine shores when the Gazelle Motors Corporation was founded in September 2017, a subsidiary owned by the Easter Petroleum Group of Companies. The corporation became responsible for bringing in the Gazelle Next light commercial vehicle nameplate in the country. The Gazelle Next is composed of a 17-seater Van and a 19-seater Citiline mini bus. The local lineup includes two mid-duty truck and an ambulance.
