Unveiled to the world in 2020, the H6 features a contemporary and aerodynamic exterior design and is fitted with a ton of cutting-edge technologies that give it an edge over its competitors here in the Philippines.
From the get-go, the name H6 should provide you with an idea of the car’s size and where the car places itself in GWM’s lineup. Historically, the H6 was joined by other SUVs in the H line with the number after the letter H dictating the car’s size, the Haval H line of SUVs ranged from number one to nine, with one being the smallest SUV and nine as the largest. The H6 is in the middle, capable of comfortably seating five passengers in its cabin.
Unlike its place in its lineup, the H6 is the most expensive GWM car in the Philippine lineup, with the base H6 Max variant priced at P1,788,000 when it launched, a step up in price from the Jolion HEV which is priced at P1,588,00. The additional cost does come with increased goodies though, as the H6 is bigger than the Jolion in size and comes with more gadgets to play with.

The Haval H6 made its entry into the Philippine market in Great Wall Motor’s relaunch in April 2023. The H6 is GWM’s hybrid electric vehicle offering in the Philippines alongside the Jolion HEV, featuring a fresh and sleek design and a suite of tech features. At launch, the H6 had an introductory price of P1,778,000 for the Max variant while the Supreme variant with all the bells and whistles had a launch price of P1,883,000.
Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
Like its smaller stablemate, the H6 uses GWM’s Lemon platform. This flexible platform allows for models to be built with pure internal combustion powertrains and hybrid powertrains with ease. The H6 is an HEV which stands for Hybrid Electric Vehicle, under the hood, the H6’s hybrid powertrain can put out up to 240 hp and 530 Nm of torque. All this grunt is delivered to all four wheels via GWM’s Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Stopping power is supplied by four disc brakes, ventilated discs up front, and solid discs at the back. Underneath, the H6 has MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link suspension setup at the rear, providing a tactile driving feel. Stopping power is provided by ventilated disc brakes up front and solid discs at the rear for both the Max and Supreme variants.
