Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Overview
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the brand's clean energy crossover entry into the Philippine market. It brings with it a twin electric motor system that gives the vehicle 4WD that can deliver power independently to the front and rear wheels. The Outlander also benefits from near-instantaneous torque thanks to its electric motors with the benefit of zero emissions. It comes powered by a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 128hp and 199 Nm of torque that is paired to a hybrid system. While not a lot on paper the crossover promises to return excellent fuel efficiency thanks to its battery pack and electric motors. The electric motor alone is capable of generating 137 Nm of torque more than enough to get the clean energy SUV going.
Making the vehicle more attractive to prospective buyers is a 5-start NCAP safety rating for a worry-free driving experience. Adding to its safety credentials the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot warning, automatic high beam, rear cross-traffic alert, and an ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV happens to be the first plug-in vehicle in its Philippine lineup, with it having a 2.4-liter gasoline engine paired with two electric motors. Combined figures equate to 236 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Power for the electric mill is sourced via the Lithium-ion battery, while the fused engines are then paired with a single-speed transmission. For the Philippine market, the Outlander PHEV is solely available with four-wheel drive, which comes in different modes including Normal mode, Lock mode, and Sport mode.

To start off, the seats are wrapped in leather, giving it that stash of class and comfort. However, power adjustability on the seats is only limited to the driver. At the heart of the dashboard is the Outlander’s 8-inch infotainment system that comes equipped with Smartphone-link display audio and an 8-speaker sound system for that enjoyable in-car entertainment experience. Lastly, for added convenience, the cabin is well cooled all thanks to its dual-zone automatic climate control.
Other notable equipment of this electric vehicle include a suite of advanced driver-assist features including Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Mitigation System, Auto High Beam, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
- Exterior
-
On the outside, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV looks clean and it’s further embellished with some chrome trim pieces. Upfront, this compact crossover features that familiar Mitsubishi design language known as the ‘Dynamic Shield’. Upfront, this PHEV model gets headlights and fog lamps that are both treated in LED.
Going over the side, the Outlander PHEV retains its basic profile looks, though apart from the well-planted lines, it does get some chrome accents as well, specifically applied on the handles, below the doors, and on the windows. As for its shoes, this crossover gets a set of 18-inch alloys which does blend well with its overall design.
Now, for the rear it is then treated with a pair of LED taillights, there’s also a chrome strip that runs in between the lighting system. The bumper, on the other hand, is reinforced with parking sensors, plus, it’s also accentuated with a silver garnish trim, therefore giving the vehicle that added contrast.
